The MS 500i is the world’s first chainsaw with electronically controlled injection technology. The innovative STIHL Injection technology ensures optimal engine performance and excellent starting behavior, regardless of altitude and ambient temperature. Sensors measure air pressure, indoor and outdoor temperature and transmit the information to the control unit. The control unit uses the measured values to determine the fuel quantity and ignition timing in the best possible way. Ultimately, fuel metering is ensured by the opening and closing of valves. STIHL Injection therefore stands for fast acceleration, extreme performance and low weight:

The proven STIHL 2-MIX engine with electronic injection offers excellent performance and low fuel consumption. An HD2 air filter, a retaining nut on the sprocket cover, an adjustable capacity oil pump, a tool-free tank cap and a side chain tensioner round off the top-of-the-range equipment.
